Kids love this stuff and so will you. It’s easy, quick and inexpensive to make. Your kids can be involved at every step of the process and the result is an interactive toy for them to enjoy all day long.
Supplies Needed:
White School Glue
Water
Gel Food Coloring
Borax
Mixing Bowl, Spoon or Spatula, Plastic Cup, Measuring Spoons, Storage Container
What to do:
Step 1 – Gather your materials and find a safe work environment. This one can get a bit messy!
Step 2 – Empty an entire bottle of White School Glue into a mixing bowl. Fill the empty bottle with warm tap water, shake, and add to the Glue in the mixing bowl. Stir together with a spoon or spatula.
Step 3 – Stir in your choice of Gel Food Coloring. The more you add the brighter and more saturated the color of your Gak will be.
Step 4 – In a separate disposable plastic cup, dissolve ½ teaspoon Borax into ¼ cup warm tap water. Once fully dissolved pour into the mixing bowl and stir. The mixture will immediately start changing consistency. At this point you may use your hands to begin kneading the mixture. After a few minutes it will become Gak.
Step 5 - Play with Gak and store in an airtight container such as a Ziploc® bag or Tupperware® container.
