Want to make a cupcake that's festive this Easter but don't have much time? Here's our solution. A cupcake that takes minutes to make but adds some Easter flair to your holiday.
Supplies needed:
Box of cake mix
Can of frosting
Food coloring (red, yellow, green)
Coconut (optional)
What to do:
Step 1. Make your favorite cupcake recipe (box or from scratch) to make 2 dozen cupcakes.
Step 2. Purchase a pre-packaged vanilla frosting, or make your own. Separate the frosting into 3 mugs.
Step 3. Mix 3 drops of red food coloring into 5 tbsp of vanilla frosting (until desired pink color).
Step 4. Mix 3 drops of yellow food coloring into 5 tbsp of vanilla frosting (until desired yellow color).
Step 5. Mix 3 drops of green food coloring into 5 tbsp of vanilla frosting (until desired green color).
Step 6. Frost half the cupcakes with yellow frosting and half with pink.
Step 7. Add a layer of green frosting on top.
Step 8. Place a PEEPS® marshmallow on each cupcake.
Step 9. If desired place some coconut shavings (dyed green) around the PEEPS® marshmallow.
