Poppin' Fun Pop Tarts

Make these delicious pop tarts during your next play date. Your kids will have fun making them and will enjoy eating them with friends even more!

What Do I Need?

Pie crust (store bought or homemade)

1 egg whisked with 1 teaspoon water

Fillings – Get creative with Fruit Jam,  Nutella,  Brown Sugar and Cinnamon (3 tablespoons brown sugar mixed with 2 tablespoon cinnamon), Peanut Butter and Jam, Diced Apples rolled in Cinnamon and Brown Sugar, and S’mores (chocolate chips, marshmallows, and graham cracker crumbs)

What Do I Do?

1. Roll out your pie crust as thinly as possible.

2. Use a pizza cutter or plastic knife to cut the pie crust into 3 x 5 inch rectangles.

3. Spread 1 tablespoon of your chosen filling down the middle of one rectangle.

4. Take another rectangle and place it on top of the filling.

5. Seal the sides of the pop tart by pressing them with a fork. Also poke a few holes into the top of the pop tart with the fork.

6. Lightly brush the top of the pop tart with the egg wash.

7. Place the pop tarts on a buttered baking sheet.

8. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until lightly brown.

9. Enjoy! You can store your pop tarts in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Reheat them in a toaster oven or broiler.
