Supplies needed:

1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 canister of old fashioned oats

1 package of sweetened coconut

Handfuls of nuts (your choice of slivered almonds, pecans, walnuts)

Handfuls of dried fruit (your choice of cranberries, raisins, blueberries, cherries)

2-5 tablespoons of honey

Baking sheets

What to do:

Step 1.  Pre-heat the oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2. Coat your baking sheet with the vegetable oil to prevent the granola from sticking.

Step 3. Mix your oats, coconut, nuts and/or dried fruit with the honey on the baking sheet.

Step 4.  Bake until golden brown throughout, stirring every 10-15 minutes.  Baking time varies, but should be done within 45-60 minutes.

Step 5.  Let cool completely and enjoy as a cereal or as a topping on yogurt & ice cream.

note:  package the granola in mason jars with a label and hand out as small gifts.
