Homefront Playground
Beginning in 2014 and culminating in 2016, the Rotary Clubs of Central New Jersey, including the Montgomery/Rocky Hill, Trenton, Princeton Corridor, Princeton, Robbinsville and Hamilton, came together for a single cause: to raise money needed to build a playground for the homeless children at the HomeFront Family Campus in Ewing.
The playground includes grading and surfacing the property as well as the equipment itself has a $150,000 price tag, a goal the Rotarians embraced. “We have made this an international Rotary project with financial assistance from Rotary clubs here and abroad" says Art Martin, longtime HomeFront supporter and a Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow. Helping homeless families offers many benefits not only to the individuals in need, but to our community. It’s a win-win for everyone and exemplifies Rotary’s motto, “Service above self". Rotarians even pitched in with some of the hands-on tasks of installing the project.
