Tiger's Tale

The first tavern at this Route 206 location was called Black Bart’s, when Montgomery was a sparsely populated township with plenty of farming, hunting and winding country roads. Around 1980, the Monier brothers purchased Black Bart’s and called it The Foolish Fox. Joe & Dave Monier built the 40 seat rectangular bar and added the grill behind the bar – the first in the area! Adrian Stevens and Cory Wingerter knew Dave & Joe Monier, all were from Monmouth County, NJ. When the Monier brothers wanted to sell, Adrian & Cory purchased the Foolish Fox, changed the name to The Tiger’s Tale – and the rest is history! So please stop by and meet our talented, friendly staff at the Tale!
